Most of the time, the user’s interaction with a product takes place silently. Only in very seldom cases can the user’s thoughts be heard directly during normal use, for example when he is very happy about something or very angry.

How does the method work?

In this method, the user is asked to speak out all the thoughts that go through his mind unfiltered.

Thinking out loud answers these questions:

  • Is there anything about my product that annoys or excites my users?
  • What change requests do my clients have?
  • Does the design of my interface support users in their tasks?
